Starting from January 3 France will start enforcing its smoking ban. Now it's prohibited to smoke in bars and restaurants. Under French law, those caught smoking indoors will be fined for $93 and owners who turn a blind-eyes to smokers in their establishment will be fined for $193
Some people say this ban is infringement on their individual rights. Some say "if I can't eat at a restaurant and smoke, I won't go there at all"

I am a smoker for more than 20 years. Leaving in California, I forgot long ago, that somewhere it is possible to smoke in restaurants or bars. We we visited Prague (Chehia), the smoke inside the bars was too much even for me. So, I do not mind going outside, if the restaurant owner is not able to effectively separate the smoking and non-smoking sections. It is possible, in Las Vegas, smoking inside casinos do not affect non-smokers due to the excellent ventilation
