Anorexia and back

Lauren Bailey spent 18 months in the hospital recovering from anorexia. She began walking up to 12 hours a day. She walked everywhere and when she was home she walked all over her room. Lauren had a puzzle on an ironing board so when solving it she could remain standing up.

Lauren say she had always suffered from anxiety, depression and obsessive compulsive disorder since she was a child. A combination of factors in her life triggered the anorexia. She went through puberty at nine years old. We all know that being different in school can be very stressful.

Her obsession with exercise stared when she was 14 and someone told her to go on a diet.

Lauren was hospitalized for the first time in 2004 when her weight dropped to 58 pounds. Doctors were afraid she would survive. She managed to gain some weight but the old problems returned and she hospitalized again in 2006.

After a few months in the hospital she had a breakthrough. She understood what her way of life isn't getting her anywhere and she was missing out on so much.

Lauren left the hospital in August, 2007. You can see the difference, she looks much, much better. She says she still has problems but at least she enjoys life now.

Now with some meat on the bones she looks beautiful. I don't get those girls who think being skin and bones is beautiful.

Anorexics rarely think it looks good, it's not about vanity at all!

I think, that source of this thickness is partially related to the "healthy eating" obsession in the society. I love the Americans coming to McDonald and ordering Cola diet. But many kids, boosted by their parents and classmates, stop eating at all, and for every pound gained they punish themselves severely.

She looks really beautiful now. Those magazines which promote the skinny looks make these girls go to such extremes.
Good job Lauren for recovering
