Jaren Lockhart Murder Suspect to be Extradited to North Carolina
The Jaren Lockhart murder investigation isn't going to be affected by the extradition of Terry Speaks, say officials. But, it could actually slow down the case, if you want an opinion on the matter. The 39-year old man is being extradited to North Carolina where he failed to register as a sex offender. He is currently in federal custody of the U.S. Marshals. This is a federal case, but authorities are trying to figure out which jurisdiction would be more suitable for the prosecution. So far the states of Mississippi and Louisiana are involved, but I have a gut feeling that other states could be involved in these crimes as well. For instance, North Carolina happens to be where Fort Bragg is located -- and there are a couple of women missing from this region. Could Terry Christopher Speaks be a serial predator? It's highly likely.
Last week, the dismembered remains of Jaren Lockhart washed ashore in Mississippi. Just days later Margaret Sanchez and Terry Speaks were arrested in Hancock County. There are witness reports that put the 22-year old Louisiana stripper in the company of Sanchez and Speaks in Mississippi prior to her murder, so she was almost certainly led over state lines by the couple. Was she under duress or did she go willingly? It was probably willingly at first since another stripper claims that the couple approached her and offered her $700.00 to come home with them for a threesome.
At the least, Terry Speaks has no problem with traveling from state-to-state committing crimes against women and young girls -- which is why it's important for authorities to investigate any connections between the suspect and other missing women and unsolved homicides. Fort Bragg, North Carolina is home of Kelli Bordeaux, for example, and that's not far from where he's being extradited. Kelli Bordeaux is an army medic who vanished in April. She still has not been found, and there aren't really many clues or updates in her case. Was Terry Christopher Speaks in the Fort Bragg area in April? There is also the disappearance of Heather Hodges, who was reported missing by her boyfriend. She was last seen only an hour or so from the same area of the Kelli Bordeaux disappearance.
