How we will look like 2000 years later?

    Posted over 4 years ago

Possible changes in human's body and temperament + illustrative example of all these changes.

Pollutionman is a composite of hypothetical mutations man will have to go through if he is to survive in an increasingly polluted world.
However, scientists predict that long before his body can undergo the physical changes man will have perished from the earth.

How we will look like 2000 years later?

    Eyes.
To withstand contaminants in the atmosphere man's eyes will get smaller, more pig-like. A transparent membrane will act as a second eyelid, already visible in the noseward corner of your eye.

    Nose.
Much larger, with a system of baffles and chambers to filter out dirt aided by large tufts of hair). Colonized by bacteria to neutralize contaminants.

    Lungs.
Man's lungs will grow rapidly and their capillary system will become more extensive, enabling man to extract the limited oxygen from the atmosphere.

    Liver.
It will enlarge enormously since it is the body's chief detoxifying organ, and will have to cope with an increased number of toxic pollutants.

    Skin.
Coarser and hornier. Otherwise it would be unable to resist blistering from chemical pollutants in the atmosphere.

    Appendix.
It will become functional again to help digest our herbivorous diet. As meat becomes polluted mn will live on herbs and plants.

    Bone structure.
Man will be smaller and more skinny-boned. This will be caused by the relative absence of Vitamin D in his system(less sunshine) and by nutritional deficiencies.

    Hair.
Because temperatures will rise in our polluted environment, hair will disappear. The increased area of surface skin will be needed to dissipate the greater heat.

    Ears.
Intensified noise pollution will lead to the development of dog-like flaps over the ears. Man will be able to lower them to help tolerate loud noise and raise them to listen attentively.

    Temperament.
Man will be slightly mad. Emotional disturbances will result from the infiltration of pollutants in man's diet. Already observed in people whose diet includes a high mercury content.

    • Whoever wrote this doesn't understand how evolution works.

    • This looks funny, even if he survive the next 2000 years

    • No way. 2000 years is far too short a time for these changes to occur without massive genetic tampering. Its a mere 80 generations from now. We really haven't changed that much in the last 100,000 years, I doubt that we even have the genetic code for these kinds of changes in our breeding pool.

    • environment will have an influence upon people..
    • + evolution factor is constantly proliferating
    • Good thing I won't be here to witness this. & I don't think it's real. the changes can't be that dramatic.

    • maybe we just can't imagine or define how dramatic or not they could be.. it's non real.

    • In 2000 years we will live in outer space or on mars or the moon.

    • Keep in mind the fact that humans are so successful, the survivors are likely to be the ones who are most sexually attractive. Most of the described changes would leave someone less attractive

    • haha wow people are dumb, do you really think we will still be here by that time. obviously somethings gonna happen, but then again nobody knows what. -_-

    • 2000 yrs from now i think there d be nothing left as far as the earth s concern.maybe evolution of a completely diferrent life form if at all
