How to open a mangosteen

Strange, after all these years, there is still another way of opening a mangosteen that I never knew!!

Of course on the presentation aspect, you cut across it into half with a zig-zag pattern.

But the one shown in the photo sequence is something new to me. Maybe you have come across this or even doing it this way.
