Things You'll Need

  • Filet mignon
  • Bacon
  • Cod fillet
  • Minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. butter
  • Lemon wedge
  • Aluminum foil
  • Baking sheet

Filet Mignon

Step 1

Select a single filet mignon steak and place it on the center of a baking sheet.

Step 2

Wrap a single slice of bacon around the circumference of the filet mignon. This adds flavor to the steak fillet for cooking.

Step 3

Cover the steak by layering a sheet of aluminum foil loosely over the top.

Step 4

Place it in the oven on the top rack and bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. This heats the filet up quickly and thoroughly, while allowing it to soak up the flavor of the bacon wrapped around it. Serve the filet mignon with a baked potato, pasta or any side you desire.

Cod Fillet

Step 1

Spread out a 12- by 12-inch sheet of aluminum foil. Place a single cod fillet in the center of the foil.

Step 2

Drop a tsp. of minced garlic onto the center of the surface of the cod fillet. Follow up by adding a tsp. of butter onto the garlic mound.

Step 3

Squeeze approximately 1 tsp. of lemon juice from a wedge of fresh lemon over the fish. Alternatively, you can use bottled lemon juice from the store for this.

Step 4

Wrap the aluminum foil around the cod fillet, enveloping it. Place it on the baking sheet.

Step 5

Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. During this time, the butter, lemon and garlic will soak into the meat as it fully cooks, yielding a tender and flavorful fish fillet.
