High School Football Coach Paul Withee Resigns After Accidentally Posting Nude Photo on Facebook

Um, oops. This has to be one of the more embarrassing slip-ups in recent memory.

South Paris Oxford Hills Comprehensive High football coach Paul Withee tendered his resignation as both a football coach and teacher in Maine today.

It seems the coach inadvertently posted a completely nude photo of himself on his publicly viewable Facebook page.

Withee says the risque pics were only meant for his girlfriend, but the coach mistakenly posted them to his public Facebook profile instead.

Oxford Hills Superintendent Rick Colpitts says the nude photo was only online for about 10 minutes before it was removed. In that span, however, Withee’s nether-regions were seen by a football parent, who immediately reported the incident to the school.

This obviously caused a few problems as the school’s general policy allows teachers to be friends with students on Facebook. Withee’s photo would therefore have been viewable in their own timeline.

This just goes to show that you’ve got to be absolutely sure you understand a website’s privacy settings before you go posting nude photos of yourself online. Even better idea: don’t do it in the first place.
