Adding your blog
How do I add my blog?
Adding a blog to YouSayToo is fast and simple. First, you need to fill out your blog information. Then, you need to put a backlink on your blog and make sure your blog feed is full. The backlink will be provided after you've entered your blog information.
If you remove the backlink or change the feed settings, posts will no longer be imported from that blog.
* Make sure to copy all of the backlink code and use the correct widget for it. Don't make any changes to the code otherwise our program won't be able to detect it.
For standalone Wordpress blogs we it's possible to use a Wordpress plugin instead of the standard backlink. When adding a standalone Wordpress blog install the plugin and then enter the API key. Here are the instructions:
- Upload yousaytoo.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
- Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
- Enter API Key on Plugin Settings page. The API key will be provided when you add your blog to YouSayToo.

How do I put the backlink on my blog?
First, you need to determine your blog platform aka the website there your blog is. (Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, etc.)
Once you know your blog platform follow these steps: (images taken from latest versions of blog platforms)
Blogger
Go to the Design menu, open the Page Elements tab and click "Add Gadget". Put the provided backlink code in the HTML/JavaScript box.

WordPress
Open the Widgets tab in the Appearance menu and put the provided backlink code in the Text widget.

Tumblr
Select your blog and click Customize Appearance. Put the backlink code in the Title box.
![]()
How do I change my blog's RSS feed settings?
It's simple. First, determine your blog platform (Blogger, Wordpress, Tumblr, etc.) and then follow these steps:
Blogger
Open the Settings menu and select the Site Feed tab. Next to “Allow Blog Feeds” select Full.

WordPress
In the Settings menu select Reading. Next to “For each article in a feed, show” select Full Text.

Tumblr
The feed setting of Tumblr blogs is set to Full from the start. If you are not using third party services like Feedburner, then you don't need to worry about your blog feed settings.
Can I use Feedburner or similar services instead of my blog feed?
Yes. However, make sure these services are not limiting your blog feed. Otherwise you won't be able to add your blog and your posts won't be imported.
How to deactivate Feedburner's Summary Burner?
Open the Optimize tab. On the left click Summary Burner and then click Deactivate. If the button says Activate, the Summary Burner is turned off.

The system didn't locate the RSS feed automatically. Where can I get my blog RSS feed URL?
Go to your blog and look for an orange square in the URL field, aka address bar (sometimes it's blue or gray, depending on the browser and OS). Click on it and it'll take you to your blog feed. Copy that URL and put it into the requested field. Make sure that your blog feed setting is set to full.

When I add my blog will my old posts be imported?
No, only new posts will be imported.
How soon will I see results from adding my blog?
When talking about a steady increase of traffic from search engines, it usually takes 3-4 months for a blog to get properly indexed. However, your blog will not only get solid positions in search engines but readers and fans from YouSayToo as well.
How many blogs can I add?
You can add as many blogs as you want as long as you regularly publish quality content on them.
Why does it say backlink not found?
Because our system can't detect the backlink on your blog. Here are a few things you need to check:- Check if you have entered the backlink code correctly. Copy and paste the backlink code a second time to make sure it's correct.
- Make sure you are using the correct widget for the backlink (for blogs on Bloggers or Wordpress).
- Some blogging platforms need time to save the changes. Please try adding your blog again in a few minutes if you are sure that you've entered the backlink correctly.
- In some rare cases the HTML code of blogs can be so messed up that our system can't make heads or tails out of it and in such cases our system is unable to detect the backlink.
I've put the backlink, I'm sure it's correct but I still can't add my blog?
Contact us and explain the problem. Don't remove the backlink from your blog. Our team will take a look and we'll fix the problem ASAP.
