Free Speech, Guns, and Personal Property, the 3 Essentials
Three unrelated subjects in and of themselves to be sure, all very big topics each of them separately, and usually treated as such, Yet Free Speech, the Right to Bear Arms, and Personal Property Rights have always been under attack. These three are the very soul and being of our country and freedom, and are very much related because of the efforts against them.
Without negating or lessening the other parts of the Constitution, I feel the 1st, 2nd, and 4th amendments are very critical and important to one’s freedom.
We as citizens in the United States, for most of our history have never had to worry much about speech, firearms, and property, it is just something that has always been there, maybe taken for granted at times, but none the less, we grew up with these as a part of our American life and values, guaranteed in the Constitution and we expect them to always be there.
These are all a part of a 3 piece pie that make up a whole, and is an essential relationship to the well being of our Country and us, the individual citizen.
Each part individually have been under attack for years, the most obvious big stories we hear about in the filtered biased media, but it is really the slow, little-bit-at-a-time, obscure laws, back door behind-the-scenes-regulation, that is the biggest danger. Laws and regulation in the name of “something” have crept in over time, unnoticed, and at some point someone says, “How did that get there?”
“America, backed up by the Constitution, is the only true real defender, guarantor of civil rights for the individual.”
The THREE ESSENTIALS…
(1) Free Speech
We all treasure and appreciate our 1st amendment right to free speech, and this is the one part of the Constitution the liberals like and instead of being able control it outright, the leftist/socialist seeks to control public discourse in subtle ways such as political correct speech, (make sure we don’t offend anybody) the “fairness doctrine”, (because liberal talk radio cannot support itself), and shows up in government funded programming like NPR, (would probably fold without gov. funding).
The liberal left mainstream media continues to promote statist/leftist ideas and degrade conservatives. Internet regulation would be a big prize liberals would love to get a hold of, which would be a bounty of speech control and tax revenue.
Voluntary prayer and Christian conversation in schools have virtually been eliminated as Christian values have been under attack for years, and yet we ensure in public schools that we promote tolerance to all the other demographic, religious groups, such as Muslims.
Pro illegal immigration protesters can trample and denigrate the American flag and it’s called free speech, yet when conservatives carry signs to enforce immigration laws, they are called hateful and bigoted.
(2) The Right Of the People to keep and bear arms….
With all the laws regarding firearms, it is not the responsible gun owner one has to fear, unless one is breaking into your home, it is the law breaking criminal that has always been the problem, yet restrictions and laws continue to be purposed by the anti-gun crowd that targets the law abiding gun owner for which one does not need to fear.
Limitation on types of guns (in some states) and what they are called and or classified so as to create confusion, such as semi-automatic vs. assault weapon. Large capacity clips are under attack at the moment, these terms are made to sound scary to help the non-gun-educated public into thinking that if we get rid of all these horrible weapons, we will be safe.
Law breakers, criminals will find a way around and ignore any gun law, it has always been that way.
The bigger danger here that the 2nd amendment protects us from is, the disarming of the population as a whole, and taking away the ability for a citizen to protect oneself individually and collectively.
Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto – “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind each blade of grass.”
(3) Personal Property Rights
The environmental movement has done the most to erode personal property rights more than anything else out there. In the name of preserving a habitat, wetland, natural river or some obscure creature or fish, that most of us have never seen, much less heard of, these extreme policies continue to restrict what one can do with his own property.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for not for not messing up the environment and do want to take care of our resources, but the environmental impositions and heavy handedness infringes and ties the hands of property owners and legitimate business. It even adds to the expense of public projects, which in turn increases the burden on taxpayers.
A property owner in certain counties or states now must submit to a vote of the people in order to develop or improve his or her property, even the sale of it would be contingent on the buyer’s purposed use. This can be coupled with an environmental impact report, (EIR). These EIR s can be very expensive, with fees going to the ones doing the actual report and sometimes taxpayers footing the bill on top of an already overburdening tax and fee obligation.
In the name of environmental preservation, the EPA has the power to to tax, (fees), levy fines, (punishment) and arbitrarily shut down any progress whether private or commercial.
So when you hear the various terms such as; sustainability, eco-friendly, assault rifle, gun control, tolerance, diversity, the media loves to use these buzz words to lull you into thinking that these things are good for us, when in reality they are slowly eroding your rights guaranteed under the constitution.
