Entireweb Speedy Ads Review1
This blog regularly reviews various money making programs available online. Entireweb.com’s SpeedyAds offers pay per click contextual text ads that compete with Google’s Adsense. The question is if SpeedyAds are a good way to generate advertising revenue from web content.
As an experiment, this site posted Speedy Ads from Entireweb in two areas. We used a 250×250 block at the top of the sidebar and a smaller 60X234 box midway down the sidebar below other similar sized banner ads. The 250X250 box generally displayed 3 text ads and the smaller box displayed 1 text ad.
Problems with Speedy Ads
Offensive content was sometimes displayed. Along side various “make money” ads from SpeedyAds appeared ads looking for webcam models. While posing as a webcam model is a way to make money from home online, it is not the type of activity that this site is interested in promoting.
Ridiculously low value per click. The value of clicks experienced range from $0.006 to $0.096, with most clicks at $0.007. Sub-penny clicks are inferior to Adsense, especially since the CTR appears to be no higher than Adsense. On the plus side, advertising with SpeedyAds (aff) can be a very cheap PPC alternative to Adsense.
Very low market penetration. SpeedyAds are not popular on the web so running an advertising campaign on SpeedyAds will not give fantastic market coverage across a range of websites. Also Adsense shows alongside Google Search results, giving it a significant distribution advantage. The reader is not accustomed to seeing SpeedyAds, which may or may not be a good thing.
Slow Payout. According to posts here by an Entireweb staffer, the company pays up to 60 days after verification of traffic. Several people complain of even longer payout timelines. While Adsense is a little slow, Entireweb’s payout policy is even slower.
Benefits of SpeedyAds
Cheap Alternative to Adsense. For advertisers, SpeedyAds may be a very good lower cost alternative to Adsense. In fact they promote the service as
Payout by Paypal. SpeedyAds allows payout to your Paypal account Payout by Paypal.
Transfer earnings to buy ads. As an alternative, ad publishers can transfer earnings to buy your own Ads from the system. Currently the site is offering a bonus on transfer of earnings (is this to just preserve cash and avoid payouts?)
Referral system. Web marketers (aff) can earn 20% of what referred publishers earn posting SpeedyAds (aff).
Conclusion
Based on this site’s limited test, for the online content publisher SpeedyAds looks like a poor alternative to Google Adsense but is viable for advertisers interested in a low cost PPC alternative to Google Adwords.
