Eight Palestinians Killed by Israeli Attacks

According to Palestinian officials two Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed at least 8 people and 25 more were wounded on Wednesday. One attack was an air strike on a car which left 4 people dead and the other was shelling which also killed 4 people in the town Beit Hanoun.

Mortuary officials said the people killed in the car were members of the armed group Army of Islam. The group was involved in the kidnapping of Alan Johnston, a BBC reporter, in March.

According to Israel they were responding to ongoing rocket and mortar fire from Gaza at Israeli border towns.
