    Download and Convert YouTube Video "on the fly"

    Save2pc, formerly known as YouTube Downloader, is a free simple tool that downloads files from YouTube, Google Video, or some other video hosting sites (MySpace Video, Break, Daily Motion, and couple of porn sites downloading is available in the paid PRO version) and saves them to your disk as Avi, Mpeg, and Flv (or in the mobile devices files formats (mp4, 3gp, mov) as the additional option, available in the PRO version).

    If I would do the detailed software review, the most common word would be “Simple”: simple computer program, simple interface, simple operations. But, for this program, the detailed review is unneeded. Simply paste the URL of the clip you want to download and select the output video format. User interface of the program is very simple, so you do not need to have any technical knowledge to use it.

    The video tutorial below is showing you how you can download the YouTube clip on your hard drive in less than 2 minutes. As I am recommending to use a portable version and you can cut off some time on the software installation, you can do the same even faster:

    • I don't know if it's illegal but most of downloads we make on the web are illegal.. for instance the pictures. For the moment there are not (at least in Europe) a lot of laws about it. But in England they are studying a way of control downloads through the IP address. I've read about it some days ago.

    • Strictly speaking, it is indeed illegal to download the clips: "Content on the Website is provided to you AS IS for your information and personal use only and may not be downloaded, copied, reproduced, distributed, transmitted, broadcast, displayed, sold, licensed, or otherwise exploited for any other purposes whatsoever without the prior written consent of the respective owners." (http://youtube.com/t/terms). However, if you use the contect for your personal purposes, and not for income generation, it should be fine. As MandM pointed out, we do many illegal things anyway: one more one less. I hope, Internet will stay free, as it suppose to be, with no IP monitoring. BTW, I can already fake my ID if needed.

    • Another great program is TubeTilla, you can download and convert the Tube file to WMV, MP4 (iPod) and MP3..
