Alaska Folkstyle Wrestling match. Alaska’s #1 seed Randy Hanson vs #2 seed Lonny Booshu 125 lbs That was incredible. There are some excellent coaching points here in this match. Here are a few coaching points I saw: 1. Limp arm to get out of the wizar. 2. Hand control. Hand fight when standing up. 3. Typically you want to stand up first before you try any other move on bottom. 4. Head block. Your head is your first or second line of defense when the guy shoots. 5. Head in the hole. The Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling team is currently as good or better than they have ever been. On Friday night, feb. 19, 2010 they beat Ohio State by a score of 36-3. Extending their win streak to 60 in a row. This kind of success is unheard of in the sport of folkstyle wrestling.
