Collecting Vintage Linens

Collecting vintage linens is a great way to collect something that is also useful. From vintage tablecloths to vintage handkerchiefs, the range of vintage linens is amazing.

I love vintage linens. The fabric designs from the 1940s and 1950s are some of my favorites.

Vintage Tablecloths

The fabric in vintage tablecloths can be charming, beautiful, or downright funny. Collecting vintage tablecloths is a great hobby that many people enjoy. Vintage tablecloths can be used as their original purpose, as tablecloths, made into curtains, throw pillows, or tote bags.

Vintage Tea Towels

Collecting vintage tea towels is a great way to hold on to a piece of the past. These vintage tea towels can be used in the kitchen or simply displayed to help preserve them. Vintage tea towels were often made from flour sacks (actual sacks that flour came in instead of paper, like how we buy it now).

Vintage Handkerchiefs

I think of vintage handkerchiefs, also known as hankies, as little works of art. The fabric is often printed with lovely designs like the mod 1960s design in the hankie shown here. Other vintage handkerchiefs are solid white or another color trimmed in delicate embroidery.
