Check and Checkmate
I should have shared this to “C” in ABC Wednesday but alas, I already made other post in my other blog here: Cute and Cuddly. My husband just taught me how to play the game of Chess. I was nervous because I always thought Chess is a game for intelligent people only when I was a kid and I will never understand how to play it. But he was keen to explain it to me and we played together the first time. He was in the white pieces and I was in the black pieces. Boy it was difficult because you can only attack one piece at a time even though there are a few of them that can be attacked in one move. He said this is not checkers, this is chess. I had a hard time understanding that. And so I took a picture of my first time to play chess, I never mind I was defeated and crushed by my husband (though he felt a glow that he won). I am just happy that I understand now how to play it and I hope to win next time (winks).

Chess: check and checkmate. Check is when the King is being attacked by the opponent's piece and has to be be saved immediately. Checkmate is when the King is attacked corner to corner by the opponent's pieces, hence cannot be saved and the game is lost.
