I can remember way
back in August, when
I was still very
pregnant in the last
few weeks of my
pregnancy, that I am
online everyday,
just starting with
this blog and making
new friends almost
everyday. I can
still remember the
first few people
whom I met through
this wonderful world
of blogging —
Pink (now Mrs.
Kolca), Nicquee,
Golden, RJs Mama,
Marice and Tey (all
from GT where I got
the idea of starting
a blog). They always
dropped by and said
hi, giving a word or
two and helping me
breeze through each
tough day of
waiting. I can
vividly remember
that day when I rode
the MRT and no one

Being a mom with 2
kids has definitely
taken its toll on my
body. I now have A
LOT of excess fat,
and aside from that,
I mostly feel like a
big lump of lard
sitting in front of
the computer all
day. I used to be
active and go to the
gym at least twice a
week before I had
Sabyn. But after
having kids and
having to juggle
work and home, I
simply don’t have
the time and energy
to work out and stay
healthy. I know I
shouldn’t slack off
and just let nature
take its course on
my body. And I did
mention

It was in September
21, 1972 when former
President Ferdinand
Marcos declared the
Philippines under
Martial Law. This
gave him full power
over the whole of
the nation. He
suppressed the
freedom of speech,
freedom of press,
and other civil
liberties. He
ordered the arrest
of those who
criticized him or
went against him.
Among those who were
arrested were then
Senate President
Jovito Salonga and
Senators Jose Diokno
and Benigno Aquino
Jr. Senator Benigno
Aquino Jr. was being
groomed by the
opposition to run
against Marcos in
the supposed 1973
elections. It never
took place because

I know that in the
US, the people there
are already
accustomed to having
the old people like
their parents or
grandparents live in
a nursing home or
home for the
elderly. I guess
because this is more
convenient, since
people living in the
US are really busy
people, and hiring a
private nurse or
someone to take care
of the elderly will
probably cost a lot.
Here in the
Philippines, home
for the elderly
aren’t as big
as in the US. In
fact, I personally
know of only 1 such
place, which is
called the Golden
Acres. Filipinos
usually care for the
elderly until the
time that they pass
away. That

guess that’s
why she’s so
spoiled, cos she
knows everyone loves
her to bits.

It has been more
than a month now,
since that fateful
day that I migrated
this blog from
Blogger to
Wordpress. And all I
can say is that I am
really loving the
features of
Wordpress, and the
premium
functionality that
only owning a
self-hosted blog can
offer. I plan to
make a post of the
nitty-gritty details
of migrating from
Blogger to Wordpress
in my tech blog, but
let me discuss the
basics of getting
your own self-hosted
blog here.
First step is to get
a reliable web host.
There are a lot of
web hosting
companies online,
and there are so
many good ones which
I will be doing a
few reviews of

One of the things
that I love about
working from home is
the convenience that
it gives to me. I no
longer have to
commute going to the
office and commute
coming back home. I
no longer have to
squeeze myself in
and ride the bus or
the train full of
sweaty (and
sometimes smelly!)
people. And of
course, working from
home means I don’t
have fare expenses
to think of.
Well, now that I
work from home, I
have also found the
convenience of
shopping online.
Yes, I still love to
go the malls, stroll
around and shop for
the best bargain.
But there are things
that can be bought
online for a cheaper
price than

Me, my Bubby, my
little Sabyn and
Sanjo all share one
thing in common
— our love for
water. We love going
to beaches and
swimming in pools.
In fact, if I can
remember right,
that’s the only
“sport” that I can
do — swimming.
We can stay there
the whole day and
just bask in the
wonderful sunshine.
That is why I am so
looking forward to
the start of summer.
(I know, the weather
now is like it is
summer because of
the extreme heat and
humidity!)
Meanwhile, my little
Sabyn is enjoying
herself in her
little inflatable
swimming pool, and
little Sanjo in his
nice big baby tub.
