Bulbul Islam’s latest album launched

Renowned Tagore singer Bulbul Islam’s latest album, Sondhar Meghmala–featuring 12 songs of Tagore compositions was launched through a special programme at Bengal Shilpalaya on Saturday.

Theatre personality Ramendu Majumdar, at the event, unveiled the cover of the album.

Produced by Bengal Foundation, the album features Durbadal Chattopadhyay as the music director, and contains Tagore songs like Kolahol to baron holo, Ei ki labonyo purno pran, Tomar kachhey shanty chabo na, Aaj nahi nahi nidra, Jete jete eka pothe, Nityo tomar, Kandale tumi more, Prem eshechhilo, Ei ki sudharosh, Kon shubhokhone, Aaj jemon kore gaichhey akash and the title track. The launching ceremony of the album was followed by a musical soiree in which Bulbul Islam rendered a few tracks from his latest album. Apart from these, the singer also performed some timeless compositions from the treasure trove of Tagore.

The entire evening was anchored by Luva Nahid Choudhury, director general of Bengal Foundation.
