LiveJournal Strike

LiveJournal is going on a strike. LJ members are not going to post any content for 24 hours. The strike scheduled on March 21 and starts at 00:00 GMT. LiveJournal members want to restore Basic LJ accounts for new account creation, they want to be informed of any changes before they are made and to abolish censorship of some user's interests.

This strike is supposed to show people running LiveJournal that without LJ users, without their content there will be no LiveJournal and they have their own opinions on how LJ should be run.

First 3G iPhone Pictures

These are first pictures of the famous 3G iPhone that is going to be released sometime in June. At least that was said on a mac dedicated website MacFreak.nlAs you can see there are differences from the previous model like the white real panel but why are they so blurry or where did they the pictures came from is unknown. So there's some controversy here. For now these are the most realistic 3G iPhone pictures I've seen.

Good for them. I used to post on Livejournal but then I decided I can also make money from my content and I never looked back. Sure, I don't get as many readers now but now I'm doing what I like and making money at the same time.

Yep, I did the same. I work hard to make money for my content and am not real big about just giving it to a site. At least sites like YouSayToo offers something back to those who produce content.

It's a journal based site, but now they want you to pay for accounts there.

I used to hangout there but now I'm converted to YouSayToo. Here YOU get paid for posting and not vice-versa.

LiveJournal wants to make even more money from it's members. They have put ads in people's journals which is very annoying. Personally I don't like LJ navigation is simply terrible.

I don't think this strike will accomplish anything. LiveJournal is big enough to not care about such nonsense.

I'm striking against LJ, even though I have a paid account there. I just signed onto YST and checking it out. Besides, I like making money, too.

I also agree that this is a good idea. If people want change, they have to show that they have the right to demand it. I would say it does seem like it will be hard to organize a strike, you will have to let us know how it goes.

LJ has been recently acquired by Russian "SUP", and they decided to change policies to get money immediately, without even consulting with founder of LJ, who is opposing the move. I do not like LJ with or without these changess, but in Russia it is the most popular blogging platform. Popular, but not the only one. If the rules will not change, LJ will loose the market share to the free competitors.
