Bing is no match to Google !!

Microsoft has attempted to compete with Google with it’s latest launch of Bing search engine, but can you compare Bing with Google? I don’t think Bing will ever become successful in this effort.

Just out of curiosity I tried to search following most popular words on Google and Bing , and here are the results for you to see…

Search Bing in Bing- 3,060,000 results
Search Bing in google -25,800,000 results

Result- Google produces more result of Bing than the Bing itself and defeats it by huge margin..

Search Google in Bing - 130,000,000 results
Search Google in Google- 2,670,000,000 results

Result- Google can’t be beaten so easily on it’s home turf !!

Search Susan Boyle in Bing- 9,640,000 results
Search Susan Boyle in Google- 25,500,000 results

Result- The most happening singing sensation produces more results on Google …

Search Barack Obama in Bing- 567,000 results
Search Barack Obama in Google- 114,000,000 results

Result- Google covers Obama more in detail than Bing !!

Search Air France in Bing - 109,000,000 results
Search Air France in Google -210,000,000 results

Result- Latest trend in search, the Air France plane crash tragedy gives again Google upper hand !!

Search Osama Bin Laden in Bing - 5,960,000 results
Search Osama Bin Laden in Google- 8,310,000 results

Result- Again Osama Bin laden is covered more extensively on Google than Bing.

Though Bing is new and we have to give time to prove itself, I really doubt if Bing can beat Google any day in future. Though nobody is going to click on these search results or it is a matter of research if so many search results are really useful for anyone looking for such an information on internet as most of the people won’t go beyond a single page of the search results listing, this is the way how the search engines are analysed and rated !!

  • Hi there, How you are comparing bing with google? you should check the result, not the Search numbers. Have you ever clicked on 100000 even? I'm impressed with the result and i guess bing is a bigger winner here.

  • I haven't used bing, but their ads says it is combating information overload. In other words, it isn't designed to give you 25 million results. There isn't any reason for that sort of volume. It's meaningless - a detriment to google, since in Microsoft's view, google isn't filtering as efficiently.

  • its quality not quantity, what good are twice, three or four times as many hits when you have to sort through hundreds just to find a single valid hit pertaing to the information you are looking for. i would much rather have a hundred so-called good hits as opposed to the 10,000,000+ junk, garbage and commercial links that google brings up and are a total waste of the end users time. i used google when it first came online before anyone had heard of it. then as it changed, became more commercial and less relevant i switched over to dogpile which had, has, more in common with the original metacrawler that was google. my primary search tool thus remains dogpile, however i will still use bing as a backup resource as it does come up with a different pool of responses. different is better in this case, more of the same,...google, is not.

  • its the most stupid way of testing a search engine and giving your thoughts on the same. I think you should first get your basics rights. How can you compare two search engines by the number of results???
