Beware the Mothman!

Mothman is a humanoid, red-eye, covered in fur, with a pair of wings and measuring over two meters tall. It is said it can fly at great speed, spreading terror in its path and heralding disaster.

The first reports of this being dated in the second half of the decade of the 60s of last century (November 12, 1966) in Pleassant Point, a small town in West Virginia, United States, throughout that year residents of the town reported at least 100 appearances and, in fact, they continued to be presented throughout the decade and less frequently in later decades, however, it is curious that many of these reports involve testimony from airline pilots and firefighters.

However, what may seem strange that this creature, the most striking appearances of the Mothman is that many believe are related to either natural disasters, financial, social or political, for example, the most frightening and sadly famous was the collapse of the Silver Bridge that left 46 dead on December 15, 1967, most recently, in 2009, reported the appearance of this being in Chihuahua and curiously a month later began the first cases of influenza type A paralyzed the country.

There are those who come to associate with the UFO phenomenon,black men with an animal and crypto. In fact, in 1975 John Keel The Mothman Prophecies published (Mothman Prophecies), a book where the author makes an accurate count of all occurrences of this being to date, relating to paranormal phenomena, bringing it closer to the figure of a poltergeist, or also related to the UFO phenomenon,this book has enjoyed such popularity that was brought to the big screen in 2002 with the title Mothman prophecy.

Years later, in 2002, the Mothman phenomenon would take hold with the book Mothman and other curious encounters where its author, Loren Coleman, A study of type cryptozoological.

Although the Mothman is one of the most studied creatures in cryptozoology, the skeptics have a few theories concerning the existence of this being the most accepted says that in reality it is a large owl that lives in the state of Virginia . Even if this theory were true, it explains the size of the creature nor the disaster that washed away.
