Are You Addicted to the Internet? (INFOGRAPHIC)1
If you feel like you might be addicted to the internet, you’re far from alone.
According to a new poll, 61 percent of us feel like we’re addicted to the internet and just can’t stop clicking.
SodaHead surveyed 602 people about whether or not they felt they were internet junkies, and many of them were, in fact, self-diagnosed addicts.
Interestingly enough, women felt they experienced web addiction more than men, with 64 percent of women compared with 55 percent of men reporting the symptoms of addiction.
Among respondents who felt addicted, teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 were the worst off, with 73 percent reporting addiction. As respondents get older, they reported less and less addiction, with the possible exception of those 65 and over, who feel more addicted than their counterparts between 45 and 64.
The poll also found that those who spend the most time online were the least likely to suffer from internet addiction. Those between the ages of 45 and 54 spend the most time each week online, clocking in at close to 40 hours of browsing per week. Teens feel the most addicted and spend the least amount of time online. They only spend 22.3 hours online per week.
