Laws of Gravity: Extreme, lucid journal of 3 significant nights in the lives of a set of youthful blue-collar Brooklyn robbers and their lady friends. Shot on a minuscule spending limit, and differentiated by abrasive, Scorsese-like reality. The acting is superb and Jean de Segonzac's hand-clutched camcorder is a chief plus. The Littlest Horse Thieves: Well-made Disney period piece filmed in England, in reference to 3 kids's attempts to spare ponies who work the mines from neglect and mistreatment. Rhapsody: 3 way romance amid opulent Taylor, violinist Gassman, and pianist Ericson. Cast includes Elizabeth Taylor, Vittorio Gassman, John Ericson, Louis Calhern, and Michael Chekhov. (115 minutes, 1954)
Side Out: College kid comes to Soulhern California for a summer job expulsing occupants for his sleazy uncle although as an alternative ends up joining wilh one of his potential victims for the final shore volleyball match. The sand and sun are the lone highlights of this no brainer which alleges to be the first big screen film in regards to volleyball. Cast includes Thomas Howell, Peter Horton, Courtney Thome-Smilh, Harley Jane Kozak, Christopher Rydell, Terry Kiser, Randy Stoklos, Sinjin Smilh, and Kathy Ireland. (100 minutes, 1990)
Lost Command: Tgus film is a tight, well-made tale of French-Algerian guerrilla warfare in North Africa, with Quinn as the peasant who has risen to a position of request. Fine global cast, excellent direction, and some top notch action roles mix extremely well. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Alain Delon, George Segal, Michele Morgan, Maurice Ronet, Claudia Cardinale, Gregoire Asian, and Jean Servais. (130 minutes, 1984)
Afurika Monogatari: Guide Sayer crashes his jet in wilds of Africa and comes upon a game conserve. Even old Jimmy is uninteresting. The movie was filmed in Kenya. Cast includes James Stewart, Philip Sayer, Kathy, Eleanora Vallone, and Heekura Simba. (120 minutes, 1981)
Black Orpheus: Street car conductor Mello and countrygirl Dawn fall in love in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival. Musical updating of the Orpheus and Eurydice fable is beautifully performed and prompted. Cast includes Breno Mello, Marpessa Dawn, Lea Garcia, Adhemar Da Silva, and Lourdes De Oliveira. (103 minutes, 1959)
Bootmen: Novice director Perry (of the dance group Tap Mutts) used his own background to develop this toe tapping film of a youthful gentleman's escape into big-time show business- and then back once more as he rallies his blue collar tap-dancing cronies to build his own modern-day dance show. Cast includes Adam Garcia, Sam Worthington, Sophie Lee, Christopher Horsey, Lee McDonald, William Zappa, and Richard Carter. (93 minutes, 2000)
Red Sorghum: Evocative, beautifully filmed amalgamation drama, black comedy, kid story, fable which journals a most untraditional union between a set of rural lovers throughout the 1920s. The years pass, a new years shows up, and with it materialize Japanese invaders. Cast includes Gong Li, Jiang Wen, Liu Ji, Teng Rijun, and Qian Ming. (91 minutes, 1987)
