It's believed the couple tied the knot at the back of the exclusive Amanpuri Hotel in Phuket, Thailand, at 1.30pm on New Year's Day.
It's thought the simple ceremony on the beach isn't legal, but rather a symbolic gesture between Kate and Pete.
Kate and Pete had earlier attended a New Year's Eve party thrown by socialite David Tang - which was also attended by the Duchess Of York and her daughters.
A fellow guest told The Sun: "It was an open secret that Kate and Pete were planning to get married on the island. People at the party seemed to know that it was happening.
