The funeral of former model Anna Nicole Smith has taken place in the Bahamian capital, Nassau.

The private funeral was dominated by her favourite colour, pink - pallbearers wearing pink ties carried a coffin covered in pink sequined cloth into a church festooned with pink roses.

Hundreds of islanders and tourists massed behind police-guarded barricades to watch the procession - some booed and turned their thumbs down as her mother arrived.

She was buried in a pink beaded gown and tiara beside her son Daniel (20) who died in the Bahamas last year.
