Promoting Your Blog through Forums

Another free method for promoting your blog which returns great results is through Forums.  Like a blog, forums are interactive, they draw lots of targeted traffic, and search engines love them.

Here are a few tips for promoting your blog through fourms

Pick a forum which specializes in your niche.  You can find these forums by typing “Forum XXX” (replace XXX with your niche) in to google.

Use large Forums as well as small communities.  Large forums generate a ton of traffic, but your comments and posts will get buried rather quickly.  Smaller forum may not generate as much traffic, but your content will stay active much longer.

You should provide valuable posts and comments which show your expertise and builds a relationship with the members

Pay attention to your grammar and spelling.   Nothing will turn off other members than reading a post or comment which has misspellings or poor grammar.  I suggest that you type your comments and posts in a program like Microsoft word and perform a spell check before actually posting it on the forum.

Post your link to your blog in your forum profile page and create a signature line for your posts and comments.

Do not post your message multiple times.  This is considered Spamming and will get you kicked off of the forum.
