Usually hippos are found in rivers but this one decided to make his way to the sunny beach. This hippo was spotted near the holiday town of Ballito, near Durban in South Africa.
Lionel van Schoor from KZN Wildlife says this hippo was spotted in Richards Bay 2 months ago and since then has been moving south.
The animal is probably a young male not no one is sure.
If this hippo continues to move south it'll be moving into residential areas where food is going to be a problem. They cannot dart it because it would run in the water and drown. So the only hope for the hippo is to stop moving south.
This is the first documented case of a leopard attacking a crocodile. Wildlife photographer Hal Brindley made the shots while taking photos of hippos in Kruger National Park. The leopard managed to grab the crocodile by the throat and suffocate it. Usually predators don't see crocodiles as prey because the risks of tackling a crocodile outweigh the meat it provides. This leopard must have been pretty desperate.
