| Earlier this week I wrote about Chili the 6 ft 6 in bull. Now there is also Duke a 6 ft 6 in horse who lives at The Horse Refuge in Finchingfield. Duke is five years old and still growing and may someday take the world record from Radar, a Canadian shire who is around an inch taller. The keepers say that despite his size Duke is like a baby and is scared of almost everything new. He doesn't like the rain and snow. The first time he heard a cell phone he freaked out. Duke had a big appetite. He eats thought around $160 a week. via dailymail.co.uk

| This is an amazing story of a dolphin which got a second chance to swim. Winter had lost her tail in a crab trap and was found two years ago off the cost of Florida when she was two months old. She was taken to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium where the vets nursed her back to life. But with no tail Winter couldn't swim. Animal prosthetics designer Kevin Carroll saw winter and decided to make her a new tail. It took him one and a half years to make but it was worth it. Winter was fitted with a 30in silicone and plastic tail. she might not be the most graceful dolphin out there but at least she

| A man was pulled over by the police for erratic driving in Texas. You can imagine the shock of the policeman when he saw the passenger. As it turned out the driver was wanted over a burglary and he was also charged with illegal possession of an alligator. The driver, William Johnson said he found the 6ft gator by the side of the road in Brazoria, near Houston, Texas. I can understand that a gator makes a much better car guard than a dog but what I'm really interested in is how he managed to get the reptile in his car without it tearing his arms off.

| This is why I hate Canadian fishermen! This is supposed to be "humane" slaughter of seals. Yeah really humane, first they smash a steel-tipped club into a baby seal's mouth. The seal is lying on the ice with blood coming out of her mouth and nose. Then they strike the seal 4 times on the head with a club, slam a hook into its stomach and drag it across the ice to the ship. But the seal isn't dead yet, it starts wriggling furiously in agony and the fishermen strike the pup on the head several more times. According to new regulation the seal must first be shot before it can be bleed

| It can be extremely difficult to film certain animals in the wild and when/if you do find them filming them can be very tricky or even dangerous. Filming animals makes them accustomed to human presence thus they stop being afraid of humans which can end badly for both human and animal. John Downer decided to eliminate the human presence from filming. He put cameras in logs and he fixed some on elephants. He fixed one camera in the form of a tree trunk on an elephant's tusk and one on another elephant's trunk. Downer came up with this idea while filming tigers. He said "Elephants do not
