So the 700 billion bailout may as well be called a bastardization of Keynesian economics because it was not the pure Keyesian style that would save the country from an oncoming depression slump in the world economy (not just the US anymore because of the interconnectedness of global markets). The issue is that the government is going to give wall street the money by buying all these loans, but not get anything of real value for their money because of the lack of oversight and regulation that the Bush administration has put in the language of the bill. Basically the administration wants to give more money to the same people that got the economy into the situation that it is in now. I think we need to move back to the government regulating this country and it's systems so thtat there aren't these issues anymore. I think the bailout is a good idea, but we need the government to watch it otherwise it will be the same issue we have now in three years time or less. It is time to stop letting the republicans continue to spend like crazy with no looking to tomorrow and destory the future for the children of this country. I just don't want to see another generation suffer like we have these last eight years. |
