For the past week or so the top story on most news sites the main topic was and is swine flu. I have to admin this is refreshing from the constant waves of bad news about the world economic crisis. Even though the news is refreshing I don't really understand how it became world's top story.159 Mexicans died from A disease and only a few deaths were confirmed to have been caused by the swine flu. So I don't get what's all the fuss is about. So compared to the regular flu, swine flu is just a minor cold. Regular flu kills about (because there's no way of knowing the exact number) 500,000 people

Probably because it's cheaper to rebuild cardboard houses then make new homes from reinforced concrete. Besides, the insurance companies would lose their clients if people's houses are not destroyed each year.

UN School Bombed By Israel
European nations are not very happy about that either. That was a UN school and the Israeli command was informed about it. I'm actually surprised by the extent of the operation. They have divided Gaza into 3 parts already, 600+ Gaza civilians have been killed in 11 days. However, I don't really know how they determine whether the killed man was an innocent civilian or a hamas extremist, It's not like they have ID cards saying "Hello, I'm a Hamas extremist" As long as we are remembering stuff there is a great movie with Samuel L. Jackson called Rules of Engagement. Remember the moment when peaceful protesters became not so peaceful? After they got killed other took away their guns and it looked like US marines killed unarmed civilians.

Gaza Strikes Fall Well Below News Radar
Almost all European newspapers place the Israel-Palestine conflict or war on the first page. The news on TV also start with it. Israeli and Palestinians are clashing on a frequent basis. Hamas fires rockets at some Israeli settlements and Israel bombs the shit out of Gaza. Yes, innocent people get hurt and die but what do they expect living side by side with Hamas extremists.
