Russia tests new ballistic missiles

Russia has successfully tested two ballistic missiles that are to replace the aging Soviet era rockets.

Strategic missile RS-24 flew 4350 miles and hit the target on Kamchatka peninsula. Another missile was launched from a submarine and hit the same target on Kamchatka peninsula.

The RS-24 is capable of carrying at least 3 nuclear warheads and can penetrate any missile defense system.

Russia again has accused the US of ignoring it's concerns over the deployment on of missile defense system in Central Europe - in Poland and Czech Republic. Sergey Lavrov, Russia's foreign minister said in an interview that this missile defense system is aimed at deterring Russia than Iran. US officials say that the limited system poses no threat to Russia.
