This week was full of political events. Of course the biggest news was NATO summit in Bucharest. During the summit Bush struggled to invite Ukraine and Georgia to join the alliance thankfully some European leaders has enough balls and brains to say "no". Also Poland and the Czech Republic agreed to set up interceptors missiles and a radar dish on their territory - these countries are paid enough to keep their balls small and brains inactive.
As you know both of these decisions are fiercely opposed by Russia. And I'm beginning to think they are doing this on purpose. It seems Bush wants to start another arms race and further increase military spending.
First of all the missile shield in eastern Europe is a lie. The official version is that it will protect European countries and the US from Iranian and North Korean missiles. If you looks at the map you will see that if North Korea launches missiles into Europe they would have to fly over China and Russia which will surely shoot them down. Besides those countries have no reason to attack Europe. In case those countries launched missiles into the US they would certainly not fly over Europe. Besides neither North Korea or Iran have missiles able to reach the United States.
About NATO expansion. I'll put it short. You just can't find a better source of soldiers then poor countries - like Georgia.
Within the next decade the costs of US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will be $3.5 trillion. About $1.6 trillion will have been spent by the end of next year. These wars cost average American families $21,000 a year and by 2017 will cost $46,000 The adding figures are considered by the new report are -treating wounded troops, the extra cost of oil due to a fall in production in Iraq and interest on foreign loans used to fund the wars. Democratic senator, Chuck Schumer said: "What this report makes crystal clear is that the cost to our country in lives lost and dollars spent is tragically unacceptable."
well Nato must grow stronger.. It should unite almost all the neighbouring countries.
