I'm just disgusted by people who are using Tibet to boycott the Olympics in China. Those people should be ashamed of themselves. I understand that a lot of people out there are concerned and enraged by what it happening in Tibet and they have the right to protest but how dare they use the Olympic Games to achieve their goals.
I don't think any protests will be able to boycott the Olympics nor the opening ceremony but the fact alone that people use the games to pressure the country is not right. Many athletes have been training to do their best at the Olympics and millions of people are looking forward to watching or attending the Games and those protesters want to ruin it all for everyone.
US House approved a war funding bill with a timeline to withdraw the troops from Iraqand less funds for the war. Only $50 billion instead of $200 billion which Bush wanted. The bill states that the primary use of the money is US forces redeployment. The vote was close 218 to 203. 15 democrats voted against it but 4 republicans for it. You might say it's a 50/50 vote and Bush can has the power to veto the bill.Bush vetoed a similar measure in May. But the Democratic leaders of the House and Senate say if the president vetoes this bill, the administration will have to divert money from elsewhere
A new video from Osama bin Laden was released today (09.11.2007) - the sixth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington. The 47-minute videotape was obtained by terrorism expert Laura Mansfield before it appeared on several Islamist Web sites. In the introduction to the video, bin Laden praises 9/11 hijacker Waleed al-Shehri, from Saudi Arabia, who crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. The voice speaking in Arabic is heard over a still picture of bin Laden and contains English subtitles.CNN
^this Sarim guy seems like a real a-hole. don't listen to him.
I agree with you completely. instead of boycotting, people should unite and simply enjoy the games. this kind of negative behavior will only worsen the situation.
Well this is the best alternative for Tibet to make itself free. Go tibet Go .. just Boycott the olympics
