You probably shouldn't use the music you get from this method for anything else than personal use. This is a pretty simple (and I guess it's actually legal) method to get free music. Youtube is a nice site with all kinds of videos. That includes music videos. You can download Audacity (a music recording, mixing and cleaning program) for free (it's open-source). Then you simply record the music from the youtube video (mostly it's really good quality). Let me give you the steps: 1. Go to http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and download Audacity 2. Go to http://youtube.com/ and search for the music you're trying to find (AMVs (Anime Music Videos) sometimes have a better version of the song, than the original music video) 3. Open Audacity if you haven't already. Make sure to select "Stereo Mix" 4. Hit the record button (the round red one) 5. Go to Youtube and start the video 6. Wait for it to finish 7. Go back to Audacity and hit the stop button (the square) 8. Now you can edit as much as you want, or just save it I'll give you the steps to make it mp3: 1. Go to http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ and download the LAME mp3 encoder (make sure to pick the one that is made for your operating system) 2. Save it anywhere on your computer (it's a zip file, so make sure to unzip it) 3. In Audacity go to File -> Export as mp3 4. Audacity will ask you to locate the LAME encoder That's it. If you have any questions make sure to e-mail me (d_kaelder@hotmail.com), and/or check the help files on the different pages that I link to. |
My father did something like this but i thought it was way too time consuming, but still effective.
What's also interesting is that you can listen to almost any song you want to online now. As soon as someone recommends something to you, you head over to Last.fm, Pandora, or you can even search on Winamp's radio.
