Why is everything made so badly now

Have you noticed that the quality of everything is so bad now. Take cars for example. In the 80's and early 90's cars were made to last, now as soon as the warranty expires the car breaks down and to fix it you have to spend a lot of money. There are so many extra, unnecessary parts in cars now and the computers... oh my devil the computers.

The computer in my friend's Mercedes broke down and the only thing that worked was gear 1. In the old days there were no computers and nothing would break down. Nothing you couldn't fix with a screwdriver and a hammer. So is with everything else. Tools are also made of plastic. Knives are so shitty it's had to say what's cutting what knife the bread or bread the knife.

If you want to buy a decent tool, car, even food you have to pay twice as much.

Our society is a consum one.The worse the products are, more often are they bought and more are produced...its a close circle.

I always thought that making something that will last is much better than something shitty. You waste less resources on production thus you have more for other things.

In terms of buying cars, I owned European, American, and Japanese. Never again, I will buy anything but Toyota or Honda. Excellent experience. I drove my Honda CRV for 7 years with no single problem. Fill gas and go. Once, had to change battery, but this is understandable. My wife is driving Toyota Siena for 9 years with no single complaint. I remember my Ford, that started falling apart after 70,000 miles. So, I know the difference.

thanks for the comment.
I was thinking of getting myself a toyota celica (the last one). It's not going to be anytime soon but I really like that car and read many positive comments about it.

I never drove Celica. Here, the most popular model is Civic, and several Lexux models for luxury brands. I am driving Highlander now, and I am very happy with my 2 years experience. For 3.3L 6V AWD gas consumption is very good.
Wish you to get "anytime" sooner than you expect :)

A throw away society -consumers want convenience, or at least that's what companies think we want. and the companies making this junk? It's all about making a profit to keep the stockholders happy.
