Can you believe the audacity of MLB Players Union President Don Fehr? The Mitchell report should not have named names? Hey Donny, you don't a have juiced leg to stand on right now and I hope your totalitarian like grip on the morality of baseball is at an end. Think about this: He wants to protect guys who not only cheated but are breaking drug laws. What would happen to me if the police found I was using steroids? I would be arrested at the very least. MLB Players Union is not only protecting cheaters they are protecting felons. Hey I break drug laws all the time, but I also don't have a union to protect me and my multi-million dollar guaranteed contract.
I love baseball, our so called national pastime and so it strikes me as hypocritical that we treat our sports stars like European Nobility. Remember all men are created equal according to the Declaration of Independence, but according to Orwell some are more equal than others. Sound familiar? After all we pay them hundreds of times more money than people that actually benefit our society, now we are making them above the law! Using steroids without doctors consent has been illegal in the US for quite a while - but steroids and HGH were apparently "legal" in MLB up until about 2003.
It's not like I'm going to stop watching baseball, but they are making a mockery of this once proud game. For the record I'm not exactly against performance enhancers - hey it's your liver - I am against an uneven playing field. Either ban all these substances or make them mandatory, either way it's not cheating anymore since the unfair advantage is gone. Besides, if you are going to make more money than you can spend in two lifetimes, you should have some health hazards to worry about. Fishermen and miners risk their lives everyday for pennies, maybe baseball players should face some risk as well.

I know, let's give baseball players metal bats and make them play during a lighting storm, that will increase the risks a little.
I'm for fair play and no cheating. Hate it when a game or sport becomes about who can cheat better
