Report in the Boston Globe this morning out of Ethiopia (a country that knows how civil strife can ruin a potentially prosperous nation) tells of how the African Union will attempt to calm the unrest in Kenya. Will the current organization do more for the continent than the former OAU (Organization of African Unity)? Only time will tell, but at least things are getting underway before the deathtoll reaches into the thousands - it stands at 850 as of yesterday.I'm finally starting to see more than just a soundbyte from the television newsmedia about what is happening in Kenya. It's still not much but I noticed CNN giving it a little more airtime. I even heard them use the words "Ethnic Cleansing" yesterday. Huh, I bet there is some producer out there that didn't want to run anything on Kenya until the deathtoll hit a "magic number" or something. Everything in TV in America is based on ratings and advertisement spots, so if a story isn't "hot" or "sexy" or has "legs" then it is not covered long enough to hurt the station's bottom line. And believe me small towns across the world would kill to become the next Roswell. One thing I always notice about UFO people is that whatever they are looking at in the sky is considered a UFO first and rational explanation is left to the skeptics. Also you will notice that there is always one among them that has seen more than one UFO
Can you believe the audacity of MLB Players Union President Don Fehr? The Mitchell report should not have named names? Hey Donny, you don't a have juiced leg to stand on right now and I hope your totalitarian like grip on the morality of baseball is at an end. Think about this: He wants to protect guys who not only cheated but are breaking drug laws. What would happen to me if the police found I was using steroids? I would be arrested at the very least. MLB Players Union is not only protecting cheaters they are protecting felons. Hey I break drug laws all the time, but I also don't have a
