I have always felt that when it comes to political polls, it's the tail wagging the dog. If anything, the poll results splayed on CNN every day are a huge influencing factor on how people vote. Polls this early in the race do not show, in my opinion, who people may be voting for - instead it TELLS people WHO they should vote for. In my mind there is no better example of this than the campaign of John Edwards.He talks the talk, looks like he belongs in a wax museum, and made millions as an ambulance chaser. Can you trust this guy? Can you trust any lawyer? He comes off as slimy and manipulative. Like all lawyers, John Edwards will say anything to get people to listen to him, so why is he rising in the polls in Iowa? Here's why - because that's what the news is reporting....and the sheep follow. It's the press with their heavy use of graphs and polls that is steering hapless American Voters.
