Another California Fire? Give Me A Break!

Maybe it's because I rely on CNN for my news but how come the California Wildfires, in which more property than people are being harmed, get so much more coverage than the Typhoon in Bangladesh? Money, that's why. Rich people buying property on land ready to collapse or near woods that burn down every year don't pluck at my heartstrings. Oh no! Matthew Mcconaughey had to evacuate? Good, I'm glad. I hate these nitwits, their house burns down every few years and what do they do? THEY REBUILD IN THE SAME ******* AREA! And they can because they are all rich, have fire insurance policies that apparently do get voided if you live in a high risk area. Gee I wonder if the Katrina victims have that kind of insurance? Oh yeah I forgot most of those poor people are uninsurable because of where they live.

It's like the people you see crying on TV when thier home in Hawaii is now under ten feet of lava. What did you expect? You built your house next to a volcano. I have no sympathy for the likes of you - you rich people can just buy new stuff and move into a new home. What about the people still living in FEMA trailers? What about the people in Bangladesh that have no choice but to live on a flood plain and continue to get washed out yearly? I don't see Anderson Cooper flying to Asia to talk to them, Come to think of it I also don't see him talking to the Katrina victims anymore either. Must not be profitable...

Not to mince words - I hate rich people. How can I feel bad or even relate to someone that lives in a McMansion in a wildfire zone, that buys a cellphone for their 4 year old, that has a fleet of SUVs in the driveway but talks about living "green", someone that can actually justify buying an item of clothing that costs hundreds of dollars but only cents for some Asian or Latin child to make?

For all of the readers out there not from the US - these are the people you hate when you say you hate Americans. Most of the regular people in the US are just like you, trying to eek out a living the best way they know how. But it is these people who you see on the news, satirized on our tv shows and then they come to your country and complain that nobody speaks english that you really hate. But don't worry - we hate them too!

UFO Visits Texas...Why?

First off let me say that I do believe in Extra-Terrestrial life, it would be foolish not to. Now do I believe there are UFO's hovering around some Podunk town in Texas? No. Do I believe that small towns will do anything to get tourist dollars flowing? Yes I do. And believe me small towns across the world would kill to become the next Roswell. One thing I always notice about UFO people is that whatever they are looking at in the sky is considered a UFO first and rational explanation is left to the skeptics. Also you will notice that there is always one among them that has seen more than one UFO

Amsterdam's Red-Light Getting A Cleanup - Say It Aint So!

Why is everyone trying to ruin a good thing? It saddens me to think I have to live in a time when Europe's Sin capital wants to change its image. Before the legal weed, the sketchy coke dealers and the obnoxious college kids Amsterdam had two things: Prostitutes and the Sailors who loved them. When Amsterdam was a major trading city with a steady stream of Sailors ready to fight, screw or drink anything that came their way - the Red Light District was as they used to say "a necessary evil". Well now the sailors are replaced with American Frat Boys and the worldwide Stoner set - otherwise

"...their home in Hawaii is now under ten feet of lava. What did you expect? You built your house next to a volcano" there's no better way of putting this than this

What i really don't understand is why year after year these fires happen and every years houses get burned down. You'd think people would learn from past fires, but it seems they don't. At least most of them don't

Yeah, they rebuild every time, instead of making their house fireproof. It's stupid when building a new house (or making any item) is cheaper than fixing an existing house(i acknowledge that sometimes fixing a house is not possible) or making houses better and longer lasting
