150 Lenses: Almost There

One of my New Year's resolutions for 2009, and a personal Squidoo goal, was to have created my 150th lens by year's end, or at the latest by my three-year Squidoo anniversary on January 5th.

Up until this past weekend, I had reached 141. Then Squidoo kindly gave me an early Christmas present by converting my existing Groups to lenses. I am now at 144 with around six weeks to go. That means one lens per week to achieve my goal. This might sound easily achievable, but I have to admit my publishing rate is undeniably slow. And they don't call me the Queen of Procrastination for nothing!

As I stare at my dashboard, I have ten WIP lenses. You might think six of those ten would be easy to complete. The problem is that while I was inspired to start them, that same inspiration has quickly waned. I know I will get three of them completed, but those last three will be the most difficult.

All of this has made me think of my Squidoo goals for 2010. So many good things have happened throughout this year, but as far as my lenses are concerned, my dashboard is looking particularly sad. My lensranks have probably never been worse and my visitor count laughable. While it is early to set new goals in stone, these two variables will need my urgent attention.

150 is a good number, but maintaining them will have to be my main focus for the New Year. Disheartening as it seems, new lenses will have to be put on the back burner for a while as I attend to my existing brood.
